Garage Or Street For Cheaper Insurance?
What's stopping you putting your car in the garage? Several unused bikes? A dust collecting six feet long barbecue? Lots of wood that you probably won't ever build that dream tree house with? Check on the comparison sites whether your address prefers you to park your car overnight in the garage, and if it does, sell all of that lovely junk on eBay for several hundred quid, then spend that on a reduced car insurance premium.
But don't automatically assume that you'll get a better price by parking in your garage or on your drive. Sometimes you'll get a better price by parking on the street! Insurers say the reason is that key thefts are more likely if a criminal knows which vehicle belongs to which house - and if it's parked in the street it could belong to any house!
