Gender Issues With Insurance
From December 21st 2012, insurers were no longer allowed to differentiate insurance premiums based on whether you were a man or a woman. The EU Gender Directive 2004 requires all member states to apply the principle of equal treatment between men and women in the provision of goods and services.
Luckily this has been adopted by the insurance industry, but it's sometimes worth checking on the smaller insurance websites to see if there is still any gender discrimination.
